I must say, I never thought I'd get back into The X-Files as my main art subject! With the new movie actually being made, my fledgling flirtation with CSI suffered an early estrangement, and I'm back to my first and greatest love. I've had the idea of a manipulation flying around in a head for a while, and with the great E, Erin, Exduck celebrating her birthday today, I finally just bit the bullet and did it. It's not the best manip, but as a dying art, I'm glad I've still got some skill at it. The screencap is from Krisnreine, and inspiration is split three ways - Erin herself, the amazing XF fic "An Alluring Indiscretion" by beduini, and Le Baiser de l'Hotel de Ville by Robert Doisneau. Oh, and a healthy mixture of U2's "With Or Without You" and "Where the Streets Have No Name". Whew!

Happy New Year, everyone! I don't want to jinx it, but in the past month, my muse has been very active. I've had the time, the inspiration, and that indefinable something that makes photoshop actually do what I want it to do. Hehe. I've been making a lot of icons and even larger collages. I made a simple little Flutterby collage of the CSI actress Jorja Fox, and then I made...a flower painting. I don't really know how to describe it, but more and more lately I try to make as much as I can by myself, without using others' resources, and the unrivaled Thia is my inspiration when it comes to this. She makes gorgeous hand-crafted flowers using only the tools and resources of Photoshop, and I wanted to give that a go as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the results, as I'm not much of an artist when it comes to paintings entirely of my own creation. But I am incredibly proud to say this entire collage was just me and Photoshop - not a single downloaded brush, texture, gradient, or picture by anyone else. I think that's worthy of celebration. The original collage is in the other topics section, and there's a wallpaper of it in the (duh) wallpaper section.

Well, I am back! I decided to participate in this year's X-Files Advent Calendar, again hosted by the wonderful Decemberlady. It's a wonderful tradition and I'm glad it's still going on - it's just not Christmas without it! Anyways, that forced me to get off my behind and actually make something bigger than an icon for the first time in...has it really been a year? Wow. So yeah, here it is! I hope you enjoy.

I'm back! With art! I was directed to a tutorial which I just had to try, so while I didn't deviate much from the directions, I still feel proud of the result. I can't remember where all the resources came from, but I can say the tutorial is by aka_katya and I used all the textures she did, as well as some others. Pretty nifty, eh?

Wow. Never thought you'd see this place again, did you? Yes, after quite a few months of my old host, pinch-me.net, being down, I finally uploaded the site here. I really need to thank Jackie again. I give her nothing and she hosts this crackpot old site! I don't even have new stuff to update with. But hopefully I will eventually. If you find any wrong links or anything, let me know. I only gave the place a cursory going over while uploading.

Happy New Year, everyone! A bit late, I admit, but it's the thought that counts, yes? So what exciting thing have I updated with? Well, not much, really. Just one new manip - an underwater scene of sea lions. I'm a student at a zoo now, and I was inspired by a great water background tutorial I found on DeviantArt. That's all for art - I also rearranged the avatars so each page doesn't take as long to load, and added a fabulous new West Wing fic by my favorite author, Sally Reeve, to the fanfic page. I'm thinking about adding a new guestbook to the site, so if you come back later that might be up!
